I came across an article from the
Irish Times about city councils moving to create smoking bans on playgrounds. Do you know of any places in the United States that have created a similar smoking ban? If not, is this something that should be done?
I think this is an interesting topic, especially with more and more cities creating large smoking bans over all. Should parks and playgrounds have a separate ban, even in a city that has not created a city-wide ban? Not only would children be prevented from breathing second hand smoke, but the environment would also be protected and there would be a less chance of cigarette butts being thrown on the ground.
Whether you are for or against the idea of a smoking ban for parks and playgrounds, it is a good topic to think about!
